From the Editorial: This special issue was put forward with the purpose of providing an updated  overview on different types of protein folding defects and associated disorders, covering a diversity of  experimental models and methodological approaches to study molecular mechanisms of disease. Understanding molecular processes involved in protein misfolded diseases is essential to establish effective therapies.
